A Message from the President and Founder
I was inspired to pursue my passion of starting a business and giving back to the minority community after reading “The Covenant with Black Americans” by Mr. Tavis Smiley. In this book, Mr. Smiley addresses three disparities that continue to plague the minority community: youth incarceration, wage disparity and union alliance.
”The Covenant with Black Americans ”calls upon parents, educators, preachers, community leaders and policy makers to act now to create a brighter future for our children. “I believe we are here on this planet earth to live, grow up, and do what we can to make this world a better place for all people to enjoy freedom and economic prosperity.”
My ultimate inspiration for starting Stepping Stone Referral and Training Agency, LLC is to ensure equitable training opportunities through pre-apprenticeship programs which will lead to participation by trained and skilled minorities & women in fulfilling careers in all phases of the energy, mining and construction industries within Alaska.
Without a doubt these opportunities will lead to good wages and sustainable careers that will make the State of Alaska economically stronger and more stable.
